What is online backup?

Online backups are vastly superior to traditional backup methods. The solution solves many problems associated with tape-based systems and increases the security of your critical data, while saving you administrative and other costs. All data is compressed and encrypted to the highest level before being transmitted to a primary data centre in Northampton, and then further replicated to a secondary secure data centre.

We offer 2 levels of online backup – Back-IT-Up and Back-IT-Up Plus.

Back-IT-Up

You data is incrementally and remotely backed-up to our secure data centre in Northampton, then replicated to a second facility in Newbury. The data centres are guarded 24/7 with state-of-the-art security and are staffed by highly qualified Microsoft-trained engineers. The buildings housing the servers are designed to withstand a nuclear attack.

Back-IT-Up Plus

In addition to backing up your data, our Back-IT-Up Plus service provides a highly cost-effective degree of disaster recovery. In addition to securing your data, should you be unable to use your own computer system we will provide you with a virtual server configured with your applications and data which you can access from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Whilst not as comprehensive as our full Disaster Recovery plans, Back-IT-Up Plus provides a high degree of assurance should you suffer a major disaster such as a fire or break-in at your premises at a surprisingly low cost. Our consultants will work with you to establish an appropriate strategy to ensure that you have a disaster recovery plan in place appropriate for the scale and risk to your business and that you know how you will cope in the event that a disaster happens.
